About this festival
Silves recreates its medieval city through characters, craftspeople, traders and street entertainment.
Context
Silves symbolically returns to the period of the Christian Reconquest, in a town marked by Islamic heritage. The fair combines historical re-enactment, trade and performing arts.
Silves was the capital of the Algarve during Arab rule.
